Peak Performance Horses is expanding and is looking for a full-time and part-time barn hand that is self motivated and hard working. We are a professional show barn that is home to 50+ horses.

The full-time work schedule is Thursday - Monday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

The part-time work schedule is Tuesday – Wednesday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm & Thursday - Saturday 4:00 - 8:00

 

Duties include:

~ Cleaning stalls

~ Filling water

~ Turning horses in/out

~ Preparing feed

~ Blanketing/unblanketing of horses

 

Requirements:

~ Prior experience working with horses is necessary. You must be able to handle a variety of horses.

~ You must be able to stand and work for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.

~ You must be able to lift 50 – 80 pounds frequently.

~ You must be able to follow spoken and written instructions.

~ This is a limited supervision position. You must be able to stay on task.

~ Detail oriented, able to complete tasks on time, and reliability is a must.

 

Things to consider before applying:

~ This is an outdoor, all weather position. You will be working in the rain, heat, mud, and cold.

~ This is a physically demanding position working with animals.

~ This is a working show barn. We work 365 days a year, including holidays.

~ Weekends are required.

 

Pay:

$9.00 - $11.00

Peak Performance Horses is looking for part-time and full-time horse care assistants that are self motivated, detail oriented, and hard working. Peak Performance Horses is a professional show barn that is home to 50+ horses.

 

The available work schedules are:

Wednesday – Saturday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

Friday – Saturday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Sunday – Tuesday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm

 

Duties include:

~ Daily feeding, watering, and turnout of all horses

~ Responsible for putting on and removing blankets, day sheets, fly sheets, and fly masks.

~ Utilizing fly spray and other items as directed for each horse

~ Cleaning of aisle ways, barn areas, bathroom, and other common areas

~ Occasional stall cleaning

~ Weekly scrubbing of water buckets/troughs

~ Preparing feed

~ Light maintenance and repair as needed

 

Requirements:

~ Prior experience working with horses is necessary. You must be able to handle a variety of horses.

~ You must be able to stand and work for long periods of time in a variety of weather conditions.

~ You must be able to lift 50 – 80 pounds frequently.

~ You must be able to follow spoken and written instructions and utilize all charts, lists, and communication logs

~ This is a limited supervision position. You must be able to stay on task,

~ Detail oriented, multitasking, able to complete tasks on time, and reliability is a must.
